As you can see, I had SHOEGAZEY PANCAKES.
(thrifted jacket and sequined top, Paige leather leggings, Alexander Wang shoes, Pamela Love necklace, Risto skirt)
I've had this jacket for YEARS and it's very Coldwater Creek/LL Bean/Older Lady In Unironic Mom Pants. It looks really good with a busy top because there is no lapel, and the wide shoulders for Victoria Legrand vibes. Mattie gave me the Risto feather skirt when I saw her and Amanda in New York. I nearly fell to the floor when she said that she had a present for me, and produced this skirt from her closet and handed it to me - it's incredibly special and I will treasure it for years to come. It's completely sheer so I can wear it over leggings or jeans with a band tee, or with a slip underneath when it's a little warmer. After brunch I met my partner at Saki in our neighborhood. Our friends Panda Riot were performing an in-store so we stopped by for late afternoon shoegazin'.
YES, Open Your Heart by The Men and The World is a House On Fire by Zelienople were REALLY GOOD albums from 2012.
Has anyone heard this record yet? It came out last year and they're on Mexican Summer Records, but I've not heard much about this album...
I made a noise like a small creature when I saw this in the new releases section. Kranky has just reissued Grouper's two incredible albums Dragging A Dead Deer Up A Hill and The Man Who Died In His Boat on vinyl. I want to save my love for Grouper for a different post, but AHHHH I am so happy to own this album on vinyl FINALLY.
