When I heard that the Warby Parker bus is stopped in Chicago during their Class Trip, I FREAKED OUT. Well, I did inside because I was waiting in line at a deli. Party in my brain. On the outside I simply made the NOT BAD face and happily planned a time to visit the bus. I had been admiring their glasses from afar, planning on checking them out when the time comes for my beloved blue RVS by V frames to be laid to rest. The bus itself an old school bus retrofitted with shelving for the glasses and seating and knickknacks and lots of mirrors for admiring your bespectacled self. It is parked in a small lot at Division St and Hoyne in Wicker Park and I highly, highly suggest that all of of you darling Chicago people go check it out! The bus will probably be coming to a city near you soon, so do check out their schedule to see when it will be in your area.
Beautiful wooden shelving filled with every single of pair of Warby Parker glasses in all available colorways. If you're like me and have an eyewear fetish, the glorious sight of this probably makes you weak in the knees. I probably tried on allllll of the glasses, feeling like Veruca Salt at the chocolate factory. I WANT IT NOW as survival~~~
Vintage-inspired frames that don't feel excessively vintagey at all!
Their titanium frames are dreeeeeamy.
Warby Parker also makes monocles. MONOCLES, guys. The importance of looking like an old-timey American president cannot be understated!
The bus is also equipped with books in case your significant other is extremely bored while you try on 50 different pairs of glasses. Also note the marbled shelf backing ;DDDDD
I swear this photo was NOT meant to be all ~oh hay guys check out my engagement ring~
Warby Parker was also very nice and let me pick out these frames, the Watts in Sugar Maple. I stuck with big round frames in a subtle tortoise color because this frame shape seems to suit my face. And when picking out new glasses, I cannot stress enough how important it is to wear your favorite lipstick - you don't want to be caught off guard when your new glasses don't quite work with your signature lipcolor! In any case, these are a strong contender for everyday glasses...still can't decide if they should replace my blue pair or not!
