So removing context and discovering the basis of a garment is a great way to fall in love with your pieces all over again. Prints and textures say so much about style and taste in a way that is regrettably overlooked. My style primarily tends towards black things in a rich texture that is eye-catching and romantic, while my prints are hazy shoegaze dreams. I find that I gravitate towards anything that is ethereal, which goes for fashion, music, art, literature, and so on.
What do your favorite prints and textures say about you?

interesting stuff, i think a good way to figure this out is to ask someone else. reckon you can tell a lot from looking into someone else's wardrobe without seeing the person. you must be a tactile person then?
your hellhole of a hamper can't possibly be worse than mine. i don't want to admit how often i go out and buy socks because i haven't done my laundry in ages :(
most of my clothes i just hand-wash in the bathtub though, so i just put off doing the things that need to be taken to the laundry for ages! SIGH
in reading this i also realise that i have so few prints in my wardrobe? so much of it is textural blacks and greys, lots of silk and wool and drapey jersey.
This is SO COOL. I mean, your wardrobe is even cooler than I thought, and I didn't think it could get any better girl!
This is a fantastic post, a fantastic concept for a post, and those are gorgeous, fantastic pieces.
I love sequins and anything that resembles fish scales, anything sparkly. I love things that are woven with bright colors. I like things that are kinda tacky.
This post made me realise that if I did the same thing, I don't think I'd have as many interesting textures. Sigh, I guess that's the closet on a student budget ha. Some of these images are really lovely. I have two vintage sequinned tops with great attention to detail, they are probably the best pieces I have.
Ahh, prints and textures get me so excited! This is a wonderful post! I love high fashion, but get really irritated when people take it too far and make it *all* about the labels, trends, etc. Creativity and exploration is what it's all about. ;)
