house of matching colours is treasure, basically

My ideal noncasual wardrobe would consist entirely of clothes that feel as though they exist only in some astral plane. The dreamier, the better - in essence, clothes so surreal they may not be of this world, but still somewhat grounded with a slight bit of reality. Lately I've become consumed by romanticism and desires to embody a Cocteau Twins song in my outfits. Dressing like dreampop means becoming a cloud princess not unlike the cover of Treasure...

House of Matching Colours by Paula Selby Avellaneda is my prized fashion discovery of 2011. After stumbling into Opening Ceremony during NYFW in September, I tried on a couple of the exquisite tulle dresses and they've been stuck in my consciousness ever since. These dresses transform you into an esoteric fae from mystickal planes and those are very good feelings. I JUST WANT TO FEEL ETHEREAL, ALRIGHT? Enjoy some eyecandy and swoon over these painfully sumptuous gowns...

This dress, appropriately called The Birthday Dress because come on! it looks like a birthday cake! is hands down the most beautiful thing in my closet. This iPhone picture does it absolutely zero justice.

LSKFSLKGLK, the fact that you can afford all these amazing pieces makes me more than slightly jealous. Haha the amount of times I have read "I JUST WANT TO FEEL ETHEREAL" on your blog lately is kind of funny xD. Be ethereal already! anyway, the third photo in this post is AYE-MAY-ZING. The detail in the dresses pictures, ah, no words.
