giveaway! the gentlewoman #2

It's well-known that I am a fashion magazine junkie. Not quite to the admirable level of Ready Set Fashion, but print is one of my favorite things in life. The Gentlewoman is one of my most beloved fashion/lifestyle magazines. Printed on deliciously matte paper and bound by a cover that feels like a literary journal, it features strong women whose ambition inspires the best parts of femininity. The retro styling and typefaces make the magazine feel an heirloom book that you've loved forever. Fashion editorials are styled with practical yet modern sensibilities, clothes for women who work. I deliriously devour each issue, reveling in the magazine's effect of making you feel classy just for reading it.

I ordered the Gentlewoman #2 from American Apparel and it arrived with a giant gash down the cover. I stood on the phone with customer service demanding a replacement. The replacement finally arrived...4 months later. In an effort to turn poor customer service lemons into lemonade I've decided to give away the pristine copy to a lucky blog reader!

To enter: follow my blog on blogger or google reader or bloglovin'. Or don't. I'm not fishing for followers. I just want this magazine to find a good home where it will be appreciated. The only requirement is that you must leave a valid email address in the comments section and be a US resident. I'll pick a winner at random on Monday, July 11th. Good luck!

laetli.west@yahoo.com. Thank you for doing this blog. It is completely refreshing to find someone who cares about fashion without "caring" about fashion...if that makes any sense.

i've flipped through issue #3 at the bookstore a few times...there was only one, and it was pretty beat up so i didn't buy it, but it looked interesting.

Haha, AA is so bad with customer orders. It really sucks! I'm sorry. I always feel compelled to personally apologize for these things.

Gentlewoman magazine is perhaps my favourite magazine full of strong women + timeless articles. Im a fan of the way they conduct interviews it seems pretty much devoid of shameless advertising within articles informing of people opinions on life rather then of the moment trends. I have all three issues so far I just wanted to share the love for this mag as I am a big print fan having piles of journals tacked up in my room.

p.s awesome blog! ( i found through my friends blog silencesweetheart)

I know I probably won't win because I know you IRL but it's still worth a shot. I already follow you on all three platforms.

I only have Issue #3 since I JUST discovered The Gentlewoman, and I too am obsessed. I just purchased Lula Issue #1 for an UNGODLY amount on eBay so I cannot afford to build my magazine collection at the moment. I would seriously kill for this magazine... or maybe I'll just humiliate myself by begging profusely in your comment section instead. Murder is overrated anyway.

I would say OMG I LOVE THIS MAGAZINE but that would ruin my angsty goth teen cred so I will just sit here with my Daria face and slowly type my e-mail address:

I was literally on their site earlier today -- i didn't know they sold magazines. Then i saw they had a bunch of them. A bunch of awesome looking ones. Now i want this.

To prove my need of magazines, yesterday, i spent $30 on two magazines - vogue gioiello and bullet. both totally worth it, but that's a huge dent of my money (as sad as that is.).

So yes, a good free magazine would be great.

Thanks, meagan!
